In 2017 the inaugural March for Science took place in D.C. and 600 other cities in order to

advocate robustly funded and publicly available scientific information and research. More than 1,000 events are planned for the 2019 march.

For residents of the United States, all fifty states, including the District of Columbia will be holding at least one march, with many states holding marches in multiple locations. To get involved with your states local march, click here.

The march will also be taking place across the globe. Marches are planned in more than sixty countries and on nearly every continent (except Antarctica, of course). For a list of countries participating, click here and scroll down.

The March for Science has managed to change legislation concerning research funding, graduate financial aid, and science education in grade school (https://www.marchforscience.com/).
